Job Description :
We are looking a software engineering lead (project manager) and a software engineer for our client in Kolkatta. In both cases they need the following:

- Computer Science University degree, not Electrical Engineering or other related discipline; it has to be a true CS degree from a University (not certificates or other certifications, but a Degree).
- Academic performance must be in the top 25% (in the US we’d say GPA of 3.0 or higher).
- They must speak very good English.
- They need to know Java VERY well including both standard and enterprise.
- They should also have c/c++ experience but this is not required (candidates with c/c++ will be given preference)
- Candidates with strong math background will be given strong preference.
- Candidates with Heuristics and complex algorithm development will also be given preference.

Candidates for the Lead position must also have:
- At least 1 year experience in a leadership role of some kind. This can be project management or people management but I prefer both.
- At least 3 years overall experience in software engineering (Java) prior to any leadership role.
- Experience with enterprise software (ideally with Java EE).
- This person should have the skill and personality to be able to mentor junior members of the team so personality type is important here. I want an arrogant “know-it-all” but I do want someone with a strong personality that can instruct others while at the same time understands how to guide and mentor.

Candidates for the software engineering position can be experienced or fresh out of school, but if they are fresh out of school then they need to be top 15% in academic performance.

The company’s technology has already been used, successfully, in the following functional areas: Customer Support & Satisfaction, Field Service, Marketing & Customer Segmentation, Retail Operations, and Market Intelligence.

The company has developed an enterprise software package, called OSMOSYS – combining several disciplines of mathematical sciences with computer science – to enable predictive management of large business processes for Global Fortune 1000 companies.
