Job Description :
- Execute Test Cases
- Execute test cases, which are part of acceptance/ regression/ functional suite, test cases created for a new feature being introduced. This also includes regressing bugs and executing test cases related to the impact areas of that bug.
- Ensure required test data is created for this
- Verify actual versus expected test results
- Review unexpected results for origination of the issue (test data, requirements, coding)
- This needs to be done as per the test plan, within the schedule
- Create Test Cases
- Create and store test cases in the test script repository or test management tool based on the use cases or high level requirement scenarios, based on discussions with PM or Architects, as per the test plan and within the schedule, providing complete coverage to the functionality.
- Create test cases for the newly found defects – internally or by customers
- Clearly identify the test bed specifications for these test cases or the enhancements to be done for the existing test bed
- Report Defects/ Bugs in a clear, concise and complete manner using the Bug management tool
- Build Product/ Domain Knowledge and Technical Skills
- Aim to become an expert in one or more areas of the functional areas being exposed to
- Acquire technical skills related to various components used in the application like Web servers, App servers, O/S, Databases, etc.
- Contribute to the Team Knowledge Repository
- Document the useful findings, specific product information that will help others to test a particular functional area, scripts, how-to-do chit sheets, etc. regularly.
